Thanksgiving 2012

We had many things to be thankful for this year, especially that we have two new children at home with us.  Thanksgiving dinner was a success and John and Therese enjoyed their first Thanksgiving very much.

The menu was the usual--carrot loaf, dressing, green beans, cranberries, and the favorite dish, an enormous bowl of mashed potatoes.  Omnivores are allowed to bring their own food, so we did have some turkey and gravy available.  Dessert was pumpkin and pecan pie, all vegan.

The kids' tables were by far the most lively.  Large amounts of food were consumed and spilled on the floor, and all the kids had room left for pie.

After dinner there was a lot of visiting going on, and of course cleanup.

Therese made us all laugh--a few days before, Fermin had told her that if she pulled her hair back from her forehead she looked just like Uncle Brent--so she remembered that and demonstrated it.  It was so funny that she remembered that and when she was sitting on Brent's lap she reached up and showed us.  (Yes, all of us adults realized that there isn't a whole lot of resemblance between them.  They are both cute and entertaining though.)
