Today our little Miss Shi Wu legally became a member of our family. We started out the day with Skype, her first time to see her new Baba and brothers and sister since she fell asleep before our Skype last night. She had some sort of yogurt squeezie thing at the same time.
Happy girl playing before going down to breakfast.
Her first ziplock bag--she figured out right away how to operate it, and she loved putting things in and out and closing the bag while we got ready to go to breakfast.
She wanted to try all sorts of things at breakfast, but the food that really hit the spot was a bowl of congee. This was millet congee.
This is her silly smile--face all scrunched up.
On our way to Civil Affairs to do the adoption.
If you think a year of paperwork and you are done--guess what you have to do first? More paperwork!
I signed my name and Bryan's to several copies of the adoption decree. In this case you cannot follow the rule about not signing things before reading them first, since it was all in Chinese.
Making it official--putting my thumbprint on the signatures.
Shi Wu thought it was funny--maybe because we put her hand on an inkpad.
All done! Notice the ink on her forehead. I lost my grip on her hand briefly.
She was hungry and tired and had a meltdown when we said goodbye to our guide. She tried to hold it back but cried all the way up in the elevator. She calmed down when we got some lunch ready, and then I got her settled for a nap. She looked so tiny and sweet sleeping there. She has such precious little tiny hands.
